Myths about Chernobyl
The First Myth: Genetic consequences of the accident on the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Station
are awful for mankind.
Reality: For the last 60 years scientists all over the world and detailed scientific researches have
never observed any genetic consequences owing to radiation exposure on a man. Moreover, the
International commission of radiological protection, understanding that there are no bases to
speak about genetic risks, reduced them practically in10 times after 20 years. Therefore any talks
about genetic consequences of Chernobyl catastrophe are possible to name fantasy stories or a lie
that will be more exact.
